How we are using ChatGPT at work

I’m currently using the paid subscription of ChatGPT, which costs 20 USD per month. I’m not entirely sure whether it’s faster than the free version, or whether the answers from version 4.0 are significantly better than version 3.5. However, considering the sheer existence of GPT, I feel it’s unbelievably cheap. Even if there are no particular benefits for the paid subscription, I am willing to pay with gratitude. Our company’s workflow can be divided into before and after the adoption of ChatGPT due to the substantial assistance we’ve received. Here are a few examples of how ECOM-US uses ChatGPT in our daily work:

  • Writing code necessary for data collection
  • Answering questions replacing Google and Naver
  • Drafting the initial versions of news article advertisements
  • Writing meta descriptions drafts needed for product listings
  • Drafting emails
  • Draft translation of product detail pages written in foreign languages

One thing to note is that while ChatGPT is conversational AI, it’s not a real person, so asking questions that AI can easily understand is crucial for getting better answers. It does not yet have the sense of a human secretary who can understand you perfectly even when you speak ambiguously. For example, when creating a draft for a news article advertisement, it was easier to get a better result by providing examples of similar advertisements, various information to be included in the new ad, and asking it to write based on that. All in all, I consider that ChatGPT already carries the workload equivalent to one or two entry-level employees. For a small business like ours, it is undoubtedly a great support.
