Experiences gained in the wilderness last a lifetime. I still remember the basic phrases I learned during my travels to Russia at the age of twenty, such as “Сколько это стоит?” (How much is this?) and “Вода” (Water), even after nearly twenty years. My time in Russia only lasted a few weeks in my entire life, and I never had to use Russian again, but the survival language I acquired became deeply ingrained in my mind.
The same applies to business. Lessons learned from breaking and failing outside the confines of the company are far more vivid than those learned during my professional life. Moments such as personally writing thank-you cards for each customer during my previous business, and scrutinizing advertising metrics countless times a day even for a meager advertising budget of ten thousand won for a non-existent household, which seemed mundane at the time, have become the nourishing soil for building my e-commerce team in my previous job and my current business.
Looking around at the present moment after some time has passed, I hope that these hard-fought moments will be remembered as times of growth, even if it was a struggle to get there. Running a company often leads to frustration and many mistakes. Despite these trials, I continue to believe that with quick decision-making and repeated actions, it is possible to survive in this harsh business world. Today, I continue the fight for survival.
