1. I must develop my own routine before making important decisions. In a recent book by Snow Fox Chairman Kim Seung-ho, there was a mention of using fasting to clear the mind before making crucial decisions. It seems that Crafton Chairman Byung-kyu Jang takes walks along the Han River to organize his thoughts when his mind is complex. Both of them share the common trait of making a decision after deep contemplation, then focusing 100% on execution and taking responsibility for the results. I also need to create a routine that allows me to repeat good decision-making, execution, and reflection, to cultivate unwavering mental strength.
2. I should clearly define the company’s vision and repeatedly share it with the team. While reading the book, I found that even as the founder, I couldn’t immediately answer the question, “What is our company’s vision?” Alignment among team members is crucial to reach the final destination, and the vision is what brings that direction together. So, what is the vision for our E-commerce company? It is to be a “Global Brand E-commerce Accelerator.” This vision can only be achieved through collaboration with our brand clients who trust us and build a partnership beyond national borders. In other words, it’s not about what we decide, but what is acknowledged by our clients.
3. While using the aforementioned vision as a compass, I should not be consumed by it. I believe that Crafton’s explosive growth was possible because they were able to evolve their vision over several years to match the changing market conditions. In times when the world is undergoing disruptive changes, adaptability to change is the most important. After all, survival is essential for business success or anything else to happen. To achieve this, I should intentionally read books from various fields, live in more countries, and actively utilize new technologies when they emerge. Besides my main occupation, I should keep my window open to notice changes when they arrive.
